Sims Crane and Equipment, a leading Florida crane and equipment rental provider, has more than 80 cranes deployed across the state and has more cranes in reserve to assist with Hurricane Irma recovery efforts. Sims Crane is working with various power companies throughout Florida in counties that were hit the hardest by Irme including Broward, Miami-Dade, Pinellas, Lee and Duval counties.

Dean Sims II, Sims Crane vice president of marketing, said that the company reserved a block of crane specifically for disaster relief and that they are being used primarily in power restoration, cell tower repair and replacement, and the clearing of downed trees and other debris.

“We prioritized our cranes for power and utility work to help get people’s homes up and running with electricity,” said Sims. “With millions of Floridians still without power, we want to make our cranes available for this massive power restoration effort.”
