Sims Crane has opened a new location in Titusville, Fla., the company’s 12th branch in the state. Sims expects that by the end of the year, its Space Coast branch will support 11 employees with at least four cranes on site.
The new Titusville branch, opened last month, includes an acre of parking with room to accommodate additional cranes as needed. Cranes to be located at the Space Coast facility include new all-terrain cranes by Tadano: two 75-ton ATF 70G-4; a 110-ton ATF 100G-5, and a 240-ton ATF 200G-F.
“We have long identified the Space Coast as a market we needed to service with a home base to become more involved with the aerospace industry at Port Canaveral,” said Dean Sims II, Sims Crane vice president of marketing. “Opening a full-service office in Titusville provides better local access to existing and potential clients, with faster emergency response time for after-hours work.”
Sims Crane named Chris Arnold, who has been working in the company’s Orlando facility, to lead the team in Titusville.
“The new Sims Titusville office is ideally located in the center of the Space Coast region and is easily accessible to all of Brevard and Volusia counties,” said Arnold. “With exciting new construction projects, like those related to both space exploration and expansion of the port, it was the right time to open a Sims Crane office here.”
Opening the Titusville office is part of the company’s expansion strategy that includes the acquisition of the nation’s largest fleet of Tadano all-terrain cranes, the company said.
Sims Crane & Equipment, based in Tampa, Fla., is No. 35 on the RER 100.
