Sunbelt Rentals is closing its Santa Rosa, Calif., branch in what the company said is “an operational move.” Nat Brookhouse, director of marketing and communications for Sunbelt, told RER Sunbelt Rentals will continue to service the area north of the San Francisco Bay Area more effectively from its larger Richmond, Calif., facility.

Brookhouse said the move has nothing to do with economic conditions, but is simply aimed at enhanced operational efficiency. Sunbelt obtained the Santa Rosa location in 2006 when it acquired NationsRent.

Based in Fort Mill, S.C., Sunbelt Rentals is No. 4 on the RER 100.
