The board of directors of the California Rental Association last week announced that Dale Blackwell, Aba Daba Rents, Sacramento, Calif., has been named new executive director of CRA. Blackwell replaces Chuck Maltese who is retiring June 30 after 18 years of service.

“Dale was a natural choice for executive director,” said CRA president Paul Arbon. “He has a lifetime of experience in the rental industry and his years of service to CRA range from the chapter level to a term as president of the board.” Blackwell has chaired CRA’s insurance committee for the past eight years and is the association’s immediate past president.

“My immediate goals will be to continue to improve on the services CRA offers to its members and to develop a new budget,” Blackwell told RER. Blackwell, president of Aba Daba Rentals, will continue to work with his rental company. “I’ve been spending a high percentage of my time on CRA issues for several years,” he added.
