Manitex Receives $4 Million Military Order

Manitex International, a provider of engineered lifting solutions including boom truck cranes, rough-terrain forklifts, container-handling equipment and special-mission-oriented vehicles, this week announced that its Manitex Liftking subsidiary was recently awarded a new order valued at approximately $4 million for specialized material handling equipment from a major military customer. The order is scheduled for delivery for the first half of 2012.

The order is scheduled for delivery for the first half of 2012.

“This repeat order for our largest-capacity units further adds to our robust backlog heading into 2012,” said Mark Aldrovandi, who is responsible for Manitex Liftking’s military, governmental and international agency sales. “Our customer already operates a significant number of units of this specialized equipment and will expand its fleet with this order, providing us with an even more substantial relationship. As we have stated before, our product is utilized by major military organizations throughout the world. Military remains among the key markets that we serve, and we anticipate additional opportunities to increase our business in this sector and others during the coming year.”

Headquartered in Bridgeview, Ill., Manitex International also provides reach stackers and associated container-handling equipment.
