In a new interview with RER, Sheri Ware, chief engagement officer, talks about AMECO’s growth in Canada, high expectations for 2025, scaffolding technology enhancements, and “tremendous growth” in the power sector.

How was 2024 for you overall in business?

AMECO experienced solid growth across key business segments, particularly in Scaffolding Solutions and Infrastructure & Marine. While election years always cause some hesitation in client investment decisions in North America, we remain well positioned for the accelerated growth forecasted in the Energy, Power, Advanced Manufacturing, Mining, and Pharmaceutical sectors. Our focus on enhancing profitability and cash flow remained a top priority in 2024.

What are your general expectations for 2025?

We are expecting double digit growth of our baseline North American business as more approved projects move into the construction phase. We expect robust outage and new construction work at all types of power generation facilities as demand from data centers and electrification of transportation continues to drive the need for continuing life cycle.

Any particular highlights of 2024 you can share?

  • Within our Integrated Scaffold Solutions group, we implemented scaffolding technology enhancements including advancements in our design and site management capabilities that increase predictability in a notoriously unpredictable site service scope.
  • We upgraded and completed beta testing StrikeForce Connect, AMECO’s proprietary B2B ecommerce platform to enhance client experience by increasing ease of doing business with AMECO with flexible options.
  • We enhanced our presence across Canada in 2024. Our operations in Terrace, B.C., moved to a new location. We expanded our operations in New Brunswick with a new operations center, and we’re planning to increase services offered at our new Edmonton location in 2025.
  • Added executive leadership in our commercial structure with Katie Linden as chief commercial officer and Doug Malinski joining as vice president of business development & strategy focused on a client centric approach through account management teams.

Any particular plans or goals for 2025 you’d like to share?

With the number of data centers being built and planned across North America, we are anticipating tremendous growth in the power sector as well. We are making capex decisions in order to be well positioned to support the construction in the power industry while maintaining our support of long-time clients building in the Advance Technology, Pharma and LNG space.
