Riwal, the international aerial work platform and telehandler rental specialist, has acquired Danish rental company AH-Lift ApS. The acquisition was effective at year end of 2018.
AH-Lift is an aerial work platform rental specialist, with its depot located in Hvidovre, near Copenhagen, where the company was founded 30 years ago. The company has 20 employees and operates a fleet of around 200 machines that includes the usual range of boom lifts and scissor lifts, but AH-Lift also operates a large number of special platforms such as large spider lifts and truck-mounted platforms of which some high-rise units are rented with operators only.
AH-lift and Riwal will initially operate independently as two companies, but over time the AH-Lift depot and its employees will be integrated into the Danish Riwal depot network, increasing the number of branches to six. The AH-Lift owners and key managers will remain with the business and continue to run the company under the leadership of Riwal Denmark Country Manager, Claus Kromann.
Søren Rosenkrands, Riwal’s chief business development officer, said: “The acquisition of AH-Lift ApS enables Riwal to further strengthen its market position in Denmark. Riwal and AH-Lift are a perfect fit as both companies are specialists in powered access and have a complementary customer base because of their diversified products. AH-Lift has a strong focus on the rental of truck-mounted platforms as well as spider lifts, which will be beneficial to further expand our business in that market segment across Denmark. We warmly welcome all of the AH-Lift employees into the Riwal family.”
“We are pleased that our company is teaming up with the Danish market leader in powered access rental and I am confident that we will be able to further grow our product portfolio of niche products, which will be to the benefit of our customers and at the same time our employees will be able to take part in new development opportunities within the Riwal Group,” added Finn Aaberg, AH-Lift’s owner and Managing Director.
