European rental giant Ramirent has acquired the business operations of Finland-based Savonlinnan Rakennuskonevuokraamo Oy, the leading equipment rental company in the Savonlinna and Joensuu areas. SRO has annual net sales of about €2 million (about U.S. $2.5 million), and has 10 employees who will move to Ramirent.
The acquisition strengthens Ramirent’s position with small and medium-sized customers.
“In line with our ‘Customer First’ objective, this acquisition enables us to serve our current customers better and bring our entire fleet and service offering to the customers of Savonlinnan Rakennuskonevuokraamo,” said Anna Hyvönen, Ramirent’s executive vice president, Finland and Baltics.
“It was important for us to find a buyer who will provide a good workplace also in the future for our long-term employees,” said Jarkko Miinin, member of SRO’s executive group. “Ramirent continues to operate in the area of Savonlinna and Joensuu by offering the best service for our customers.”
With the acquisition, SRO’s CEO Jorma Kupiainen will work with Ramirent on sales in the Savonlinna and Joensuu areas. All of SRO’s fleet will be transferred to Ramirent.
Ramirent has 67 branches in Finland and more than 300 depots in 10 European countries. The company is based in Vantaa, near Helsinki, Finland.
