French aerial work platform manufacturer Haulotte posted €176.7 million (about U.S. $232 million) in equipment sales revenue for the first half of 2014, compared to €149.3 for the first six months of 2013, an 18.4-percent increase. Total revenue, including equipment rental and service, totaled €207.2 million (about U.S. $272 million), compared to €176.2 million a year ago, a 17.6-percent hike.
EBITDA from continuing operations was €19.3 million, a 35-percent year-over-year jump. Half-year growth in Europe was 29 percent and North America 26 percent. Asia Pacific business increased 22 percent. Latin America was the weak spot with a 31-percent decrease. Service activity rose 20.9 percent, continuing the strong growth seen in 2013, because of increased activity from rental companies.
Driven by the rebound of the European market, which Haulotte attributes to the aging of aerial fleets as opposed to any real improvement in the economic outlook, Haulotte expects full-year growth of more than 15 percent.
During the second quarter, Haulotte Group acquired a 50-percent stake in its Turkish distributor.
Haulotte is based in L’Horme, France. Haulotte has its North American headquarters in Archbold, Ohio.
