Hertz Equipment Rental Corp. has entered into a franchise agreement with Consolidation Service Inc. through its wholly owned subsidiary Mongolia Equipment Rental Corp. Consolidation Services will have the exclusive license to provide rental equipment in Mongolia using the Hertz Equipment brand and proprietary system, beginning July 1. The move will add to HERC’s existing network in Asia.
Hertz Equipment Mongolia will offer a broad range of mining, construction and infrastructure development equipment for rent and sale, along with spare parts, repair and other services. Equipment categories under the franchise agreement include aerial equipment, air equipment, compaction and paving equipment, concrete and masonry equipment, cranes, earthmoving machines, generators, light towers, material handling equipment, pumps, storage containers, temperature control equipment, trucks and trailers, welders, trench-shoring equipment and scaffolding.
“The nation is one of the most exciting new markets for the world’s mining industry,” said HERC president Lois Boyd. “With its double-digit GDP growth (estimated at 15.7 percent by the IMF for 2013) and the influx of foreign investments, the country is also experiencing a boom in construction and infrastructure development.”
“Mongolia’s resource-led economy offers a huge market opportunity for equipment rental,” added former U.S. ambassador and chairman of Consolidation Services and Hertz Equipment Mongolia Michael Ussery. “We are delighted to join the Hertz global equipment rental network, giving us access to hundreds of equipment and tool manufacturing partners. This will enable us to provide a full array of equipment rental services to meet a variety of mining, construction, infrastructure development and other equipment rental needs.”
Hertz Equipment Rental Corp. is based in Park Ridge, N.J., and in addition to North America, now also has facilities in China, Denmark, France, Greece, Norway, Portugal, Saudi Arabia and Spain. HERC is No. 4 on the RER 100.
