Aggreko, world leader in temporary power and temperature control services has been selected by Dobreve Energia SA, one of the largest independent renewable power generation companies in Brazil to conduct performance tests at the Morro do Ventos windfarms in Northeast Brazil.
Since 2005, DESA has invested substantially in wind and hydro power and now has more than 1,000 MW in wind projects, in various stages of maturity. Aggreko has supported projects including about 145 MW, enough to power 180,000 homes. Load bank testing ensures that the windfarm is ready for grid connection.
“Aggreko is supporting the development of the renewable wind energy market in Brazil by providing vital solutions such as load banks that enable optimized testing of equipment,” said Diogenes Paoli Neto, managing director, Aggreko South America. “For many years now, our load banks have supported a variety of applications in more traditional sectors such as manufacturing, oil and gas and shipping industries.”
Based in Scotland, with U.S. headquarters in Houston, Aggreko is No. 6 on the RER 100.
