U.K.’s Vp Continues Acquisition Spree, Buys Two Companies
British rental giant Vp continued its acquisition spree with the purchase of two companies. Hire Station, a subsidiary of the Harrowgate, U.K.-based company, acquired heater and air conditional rental business Arcotherm for £650,000, (about U.S. $1.27 million) as well as DJ Tool Hire.
Vp has now acquired seven companies in the past seven months.
Arcotherm has branches in Stoke-on-Trent and Oxford and will operate within Climate Hire, Hire Station’s cooling, heating, drying and environmental division.
The company acquired DJ from its administrators for an undisclosed amount. Hire Station expected DJ to strengthen its tool hire network in the area.
VP is made up of tool specialist Hire Station; TPA, a provider of portable railway systems, bridging, fencing and barriers; Torrent Trackside, an infrastructure equipment and services business for the railway and maintenance industries; Groundforce, an excavation support systems provider; UK Forks, a rough-terrain equipment manufacturer; and Airpac Bukom Oilfield Services, which provides equipment to the global gas and gas-exploration markets.
Last month Vp acquired Redding Hire for £2.9 million, and the £4.5 million purchase of UM Holdings, which owns U-Mole, which rents and sells trenchless installation equipment.
