Ramirent, a Helsinki, Finland-based rental company with operations in 13 European countries, has acquired the access platform operations of Havator Group, and has signed a five-year rental and cooperation agreement with Havator in Finland, Sweden, and Norway. The acquisition does not include Havator’s truck-mounted access equipment operations.
The deal strengthens Ramirent’s position especially in the industrial sector and in large investment projects.
Havator Group has operations involving crane services, special transports, section assembly and harbor crane services. Havator has operations in Finland, Sweden, Norway, Russia and the Baltic states, with annual group sales of about €80 million.
“This is an important co-operation agreement that brings strategic benefits to both parties, said Havator managing director Jussi Yli-Niemi. “By selling our access platform rental business, we can focus on core operations and we can deepen our cooperation with Ramirent to develop efficient solutions for our customers.”
Kari Aulasmaa, senior vice president of Ramirent Europe East and Finland added that the agreement strengthens both companies’ competitiveness “particularly with industrial customers in countries where both have operations.”
