A JCB Loadall telescopic handlers has been playing a leading role in making sure the 88th Academy Awards show is ready this Sunday. Greeting the stars when they arrive for the Oscar telecast at the Dolby Theatre on Hollywood Boulevard will be giant versions of the Oscar statue.
A JCB 512-56 Loadall telehandler has been lifting larger-than-life versions of the Oscar statue into place around the theatre. Able to lift up to 56 feet and handle up to 12,000 pounds, the JCB 512-56 has been putting the 24-foot high Oscar statues into position. The Oscar trophies are 13 ½ inches high and weigh slightly more than eight pounds.
The machine lifting the statues is owned by Alliance Rental Solutions, Valencia, Calif., which specializes in providing heavy equipment to studios in the Los Angeles area.
Robert Lara, sales manager for JCB of Southern California, sold the machine to Alliance.
“Alliance Rental Solutions is one of our most important customers,” Lara said. “It’s fantastic to see their JCB Loadall telescopic handler playing such a high-profile role in the preparations for this year’s Academy Awards.”
