Honda Power Equipment announced at the World of Concrete show that it has added ground fault circuit interrupter technology to three of its most popular generator models for commercial, rental and residential applications.

Honda Power Equipment announced at the World of Concrete show that it has added ground fault circuit interrupter technology to three of its most popular generator models for commercial, rental and residential applications. At the show Honda unveiled three enhanced models, the EB6500 Industrial Series generator, the EM5000 Deluxe Series generator and the EG4000 Economy Series generator, each equipped with GFCI 20-amp duplex receptacles.

Honda also introduced a newly designed Cyclone Air Cleaner to be made available on select Honda GX Series commercial engine models: the GX160, GX200, GX270 and GX390. The units will be offered with the new air cleaner starting in 2017.

The EB6500 generator is powered by the Honda GX390 commercial grade overhead valve engine and supported by a heavy-duty frame. It provides 6,500 watts 120/240V of backup power while incorporating premium features. The generator features Honda’s Intelligent Automatic Voltage Regulation Power feature to enhance performance and power output, especially in demanding commercial and construction operating conditions. With the iAVR, the EB6500 can produce up to 7,000 watts of power for as long as 10 seconds, allowing users to start high-amp load applications such as air compressors that require additional power to start.

The EM5000 generator provides backup power for commercial, rental and residential applications, with electric start, remote start capability and run times as long as 11.2 hours at 50-percent load on one tank of fuel.

THE EG4000 generator produces 4,000 watts of backup power and includes Digital Automatic Voltage Regulator technology.

“Honda has built its reputation on developing products that improve people’s lives,” said Scott Conner, senior vice president, Honda Power Equipment. “Optimizing these three popular generator models with GFCI illustrates how Honda goes beyond developing innovative new products, also incorporating technology that enhances existing products.”

With a more compact design than its existing air cleaner, the new Cyclone Air Cleaner fits more tightly within the overall shape of each GX engine model. The new smaller design specifically targets OEM applications where reduced overall engine dimensions are critical.
