Acme Lift Hires Brian Stanley as VP, Business Development for Eastern U.S.
Acme Lift has appointed Brian Stanley -- a veteran of almost 30 years of experience in management, equipment rental and sales -- vice president of business development for the eastern United States, where he will play a key role in charting the strategic direction of the world’s largest wholesale rental company.
“The addition of Brian to the Acme Lift team adds unique and significant depth to our rental, customer service, and new product introduction capabilities,” said Woody Weld, chairman and CEO of Acme Lift. “His work in both the rental and equipment sales industries makes Brian uniquely attuned to all of the equipment requirements of our constantly evolving rental customer base.”
“Brian is a true veteran of our industry and is extremely knowledgeable and customer-focused,” said Mike Crouch, president and chief operating officer of Acme Lift. “I worked with him in the early days of United Rentals and he has matured in the industry over these many years. We are lucky and pleased to have Brian join the Acme Lift team.”
Stanley came to Acme Lift from the Northville, Mich.-based headquarters of the Jack Doheny Companies, where he was director of specialty equipment and strategic accounts since May 2014. He successfully launched the Bronto Skylift line of ultra-tall truck-mounted aerial lifts for the company. While at Doheny, Stanley focused on the electrical transmission industry, building and maintaining the electrical grid.
Before working at Doheny, Stanley started the Michigan branch of Equipment Supply Co. in 1994. When United Rentals acquired Equipment Supply in 1998, Stanley became branch manager of the United Rentals aerial equipment group, eventually moving on to district and regional positions and then to the national accounts department, working with the largest contractors and entities focusing on large-scale capital construction and maintenance projects.
Stanley also worked in the hydraulic crane business for Detroit-based Curran Crane Co. He began his career in the aerial lift industry in 1986 with S&R Equipment Co.
“I am proud and fortunate to be a part of the Acme Lift team,” Stanley said. “It’s exciting to be surrounded by passionate people with a relentless focus on customer service. I share the same passion for the business along with the high expectations and the visions of both Woody and Mike.”
Acme Lift, based in Mesa, Ariz., specializes in re-rental of large aerial equipment and has the largest selection of 80-, 120-, 135, 150- and 180-foot boomlifts and 8,000- to 40,000-pound telehandlers.
