The following figures examine single drum vibratory compactors at auction in North America for the period starting Feb. 1. Figure 1 identifies the 8 to 11.9 MT size class as the most popular. Figure 2 looks at the value per metric tonne for the two most popular size classes combined. It’s like buying your compactors by the pound. For example, even though the range of prices is fairly wide, expect to pay in the neighborhood of $3,800 per tonne for a unit built in 1997.
