ASHEVILLE, N.C. — Volvo Construction Equipment Rents recently signed contracts with two Irish rental companies to open the first Volvo Rents rental center in Ireland.
Tullamore Tool & Plant Hire Ltd., County of Offaly, and Michael Hickey Plant & Tool Hire Ltd., Kilkenny, will open Volvo Rents outlets shortly.
In the United States, Volvo Rents last month opened new rental centers in Lakeland, Fla., and Harrison, N.J. The Florida store was opened by Orlando-based Contractor Equipment Rental, owned by Gary Tripp. Contractor already has Volvo Rents branches in Orlando and Melbourne.
Access Rentals, owned by Ron Galen, will open its first Volvo Rents branch in Harrison, serving the greater Newark area.
Cook Coastal Rental, which operates the Volvo Construction Equipment Rents franchise in the Mobile, Ala., area, opened branches in Spanish Fort and Montrose on the eastern side of Mobile Bay. Cook Coastal plans to open a third Alabama location in the near future.
Volvo Rents now has 36 rental centers open in Virginia, North Carolina, Florida, South Carolina, California, Tennessee, Ohio, Louisiana, New York, Minnesota, Arkansas, New Jersey and Alabama. In addition to the franchises now in operation, the company has 34 franchise development agreements under consideration and is in negotiations with parties seeking an independently owned and operated franchise opportunity in the equipment rental industry. Other Volvo Rents franchises are now in operation in Europe. Development agreements are being negotiated for 18 rental centers in Spain.
