The Volvo L250H wheel loader is a high production machine designed to deliver productivity and profitability in applications including quarry, mining and heavy infrastructure. It features short cycle times and high breakout force. The wheel loader is matched to on-highway trucks, and the L250H will load a 25-ton tri-axle on-highway truck in two passes—two full buckets for one full truck.
The L250H’s engine provides high performance and low fuel consumption. Particulate matter collected in the diesel particulate filter is burned off without interrupting performance or productivity for clean operation during the fully automated regeneration process.
“The Volvo L250H wheel loader is the world’s first twopass loader brought to market, cutting the tri-axle truck loading process by one third from its historic three-pass process,” says Doug Phillips, product manager, GPPE, Volvo Construction Equipment. “It’s an advantage that can be felt across the machine, by the operator, and on the jobsite. The two-pass loader results in one-third less fuel consumption, reduced tire and engine wear, decreased operator fatigue, and most importantly, it sends the loaded truck on its way 33.3 percent faster than ever before.”
Fuel efficiency is enhanced by Volvo OptiShift technology, which combines the company’s patented Reverse By Braking technology and a torque converter with lock-up to eliminate power losses and reduce fuel consumption by up to 18 percent.
