Mocksville, N.C. — Lawrence “Larry” Silber was last month named president, Doosan Infracore Portable Power. After serving as president of utility equipment with Ingersoll Rand Construction Technologies, Silber will have responsibility for DIPP's company-owned stores, rental and remarketing services business on a global basis and the Latin American region for Bobcat, Portable Power and Attachments. Silber served 29 years as a business leader within Ingersoll Rand.

“Our strategy of global expansion, portfolio enhancement and operational excellence will be greatly enhanced by becoming part of a global leading business within the construction equipment market,” Silber said.

Silber said initially he would “devote significant energy to the seamless integration of our businesses.” Silber will be based in Davidson, N.C.

In other company news, one week after completing its acquisition of the Bobcat, Utility Equipment and Attachments businesses of Ingersoll Rand Co., South Korea's Doosan Group announced it has increased its target sales in the construction equipment sector from $7.5 billion to $12 billion by 2012, according to a report in The Korea Times. The company says it expects the acquisition to significantly boost its sales.
