A look at who's where in the equipment rental and manufacturing industries.

Bob Vermeer, CEO and chairman of the board at Pella, Iowa-based Vermeer Manufacturing, was elected the 2000-2001 chairman of the Equipment Manufacturers Institute in Chicago. He has served on EMI's board of directors since 1995.

Terex Cranes, based in Conway, S.C., named John Shivers general sales manager for the company's Southeast region. Shivers had been the national accounts director at Grove Manlift.

Daniel Foster was named chief technology officer at Duluth, Ga.-based RentOnTheDot. He has more than 15 years of technical experience and has worked for AT&T, NCR and Lucent Technologies.

Kiran Patel resigned as chief financial officer at Columbus, Ind.-based Cummins and joined iMotors, headquartered in San Francisco. He had been with Cummins for 26 years.

Briggs & Stratton, headquartered in Milwaukee, named Mae Killebrew director of employee services. She joined the company in 1977, serving most recently as human resources/industrial relations manager.

The Manitowoc Co., based in Manitowoc, Wis., announced five senior management promotions. Glen Tellock became senior vice president and chief financial officer, Thomas Musial senior vice president of human resources and administration, Tim Kraus president of Manitowoc Foodservice Group, Rob Giebel president of Manitowoc Crane Group and Tom Byrne president of Manitowoc Marine Group.

Dan Olson was named director of sales at Loegering in Casselton, N.D.

Jeff Fata and William Wilcox joined Bridgeport, N.J.-based Godwin Pumps of America as sales engineers with the company's Chicago office. Fata had been national accounts manager at Set Environmental, and Wilcox has 26 years of rental industry experience, including time as a sales representative with Brambles Equipment Service.

UpRight, headquartered in Selma, Calif., promoted Michael Savoldi to director of manufacturing and facilities engineering and Jim Tolle to director of logistics and product support. Savoldi had been UpRight's manager of special manufacturing projects, and Tolle was assistant product support manager.

Mike Adams returned to PolyJohn in Whiting, Ind., as managing director. He had been with the company as Central region representative before leaving to start his own waste-management company.
