Point-of-Rental Systems, Grand Prairie, Texas
Introduced: October 2011
Key innovation: Fully integrated with Point-of-Rental Systems' management software, this “set it and forget it” service-planning software automates scheduling and routing of service jobs for on-rent items. Utilizing mobile devices for scanning and tracking information, it updates completed services and route statuses in real time.
Rental stores find that servicing on-rent equipment and offering onsite services can provide additional earnings, but dispatching and scheduling frustrations, as well as inefficient routing quickly eat away profits. Recognizing the need for a “set it and forget it” planning software for recurring service jobs, Point-of-Rental Systems introduced its revolutionary Service Module, which fully integrates with the company's Enterprise Software for Windows.
The new Service Module automates service scheduling and routing that otherwise would require extensive managing. Service schedules are created directly from the rental contract and adjustments can be made easily when service requirements change. Services can be temporarily suspended, increased, or decreased to meet demand.
Pairing Point-of-Rental's Dispatch Center with the new Service Module, service routes are optimized, eliminating wasted time and fuel, the developer says. In addition, GPS Integration allows for visual tracking of vehicles, keeping drivers on track and dispatchers informed at all times. Making route adjustments is painless and can be done day to day or permanently. Permanent route adjustments are made with a click of the mouse, saving hours of time and manipulation.
Utilizing the latest mobile technology, service drivers can document missed services and show completed services in real-time. With a smartphone device and a wireless barcode scanner, drivers can scan equipment or manifests to keep route statuses current and accurate.
Service and route history reports identify service issues internally, enabling smart management of route volumes to ensure even workloads and ultimately reduce overtime. Reports also provide service confirmation for customers, as well as quick and accurate answers when questions arise.
Designed to allow for consistency in service processes, constant monitoring, informative tracking, and optimal scheduling, Point-of-Rental's innovative Service Module offers a seamless, money-saving solution to service-planning needs.
