Fecon Introduces New Wider Mulcher for Standard-Flow Skid Steers
Posted by Brooke Just
Fecon introduces the RK6015, a new, wider, standard flow mulcher head, which works with most standard skid-steer loaders, Avant-type wheel loaders, and other carriers that are able to provide 17-27 gpm of hydraulic flow, have enclosed cabs that can be properly protected with the appropriate polycarbonate guarding, and have the ability to carry the 1,465-pound attachment. This new brush cutting tool allows those with standard-flow skid steers up to 75 HP to expand their capabilities and enter the brush-cutting arena without a large capital expenditure. A bite-limiting split ring rotor holds 26 knife or carbide-type cutting tools and has a 60-inch working width.
Operating at 2400 rpm, the unit can shred brush and small trees up to 5 inches in diameter, making it an excellent tool for general vegetation management, creating “defensible space” for fire prevention, clearing fence rows, lot and land cleanup, and more. This machine is versatile for rental fleets as well as landscapers, arborists, farmers, ranchers, landowners/property managers, parks and recreational facilities, municipalities, Christmas tree farms, and others tasked with managing brush and vegetation.
Weighing just 1,490 pounds with mounting plate and push bar, this new mulcher head is easily handled by the carrier, yet stout enough to provide a long service life. Overall width is approximately 71 inches with a cutting width of 60 inches, and overall height is 47 inches, with a depth of 33 inches. It is adaptable with varying mounting plates to fit several types of carriers. It comes provided with carrier-specific hydraulic hoses and couplers. A variable displacement 45cc hydraulic motor is standard, as is an adjustable bolt-on push bar with serrated ears for directing material.
