Diamond Mowers LLC has appointed former Caterpillar executive Wayne Baumberger as its new president. Founder Bill Doyle will step down from the president role, but will remain as the company’s CEO.
“We are fortunate to have someone of Wayne’s caliber and experience to lead Diamond,” said Doyle. “We are looking forward to his leadership to successfully implement our strategy and take advantage of new market opportunities.”
“I am honored and excited to lead Diamond Mowers,” said Baumberger. “I have the opening to move closer to home, create and grow opportunities in the state, all while working on cool products.”
Baumberger spent the past 22-plus years at Caterpillar Inc. in engineering, development, production and operational roles. Having graduated from South Dakota School of Mines and Technology with a Mechanical Engineering degree, Baumberger is a South Dakota native with a passion for education and giving back to the community. Baumberger has a wife and two children.
Diamond Mowers was founded in 2000, The company is based in Sioux Falls, S.D. and is a leading manufacturer of industrial mowing, mulching, and brush cutting equipment for the municipal, skid-steer and excavator markets. Its products include: boom mowers, rotary mowers, flail mowers and forestry mulchers for municipalities, contractors, and land owners. The company entered the skid-steer and excavator attachment markets in 2013 and manufactures rotary mowers and forestry mulchers that attach to skid loaders and excavators, designed for small, and large-scale brush clearing operations. In 2017 Diamond was included in the Inc. 5000.
