UniCarriers Americas, Formerly Nissan Forklift, Names New President

April 26, 2013

UniCarriers Americas Corp. president Peter Kruse has resigned for personal reasons, effective May 2. UniCarriers is the new name for Nissan Forklift, which merged with TCM America to form the new entity earlier this month. Akira Shiki, currently an officer and general manager of product merchandising, will become the new president.

Kruse said he is resigning for family-related reasons. Shiki has many years of experience with the company at its Marengo, Ill., headquarters.

“This past year has been an exciting one, as we transitioned Nissan Forklift and TCM to UniCarriers Americas to create a world-class global brand positioned in the market to be a leader in the material handling industry,” said James Radous, vice president of sales and marketing. “Our fiscal 2012 ended with a strong finish and we are looking forward to our fiscal 2013 to be even more successful.”

Shiki was vice president, product engineering for Nissan Forklift Corp., North America, in Marengo from 1998 to 2004, before returning to Nissan Forklift’s global headquarters in Japan, where he served as general manager, management and planning department. In 2010 he was named CEO and president of Nissan Forklift, as well as chairman of the board, a position he maintains.
