Among the thousands of people stranded in India’s airports unable to travel to Europe or North America was Kamal Nath, Union Minister for Transport and Highways, who had been scheduled to deliver the keynote address at the Bauma 2010 trade fair last week.
Nath had also been scheduled to attend a joint press conference with Klaus Dittrich, managing director of the trade fair, and to take part in a panel discussion on investment opportunities in India’s infrastructure sector, especially in building up the national highways.
Although some airports in Europe were allowing limited flight traffic by the third day of the show, Nath cancelled his attendance, the Press Trust of India reported.
