Gradall Industries introduces the XL5300 III excavator — the largest model in its family of on/off highway machines. The excavator’s design, including front axle oscillation locks, enables this wheeled model to work at the front, rear or either side of the machine without the need to lower outriggers or the optional front blade. It also features the Gradall boom, which tilts and telescopes so there is no loss of power through the entire dig cycle as it precisely positions buckets, grapples, hammers and other attachments to accomplish high-production excavating, demolition, trenching, pavement removal and material loading and unloading with trucks. An in-cab switch allows operators to choose between SAE, Deere or Gradall joystick control patterns. A single Detroit Diesel Mercedes engine delivers 173 hp to the upper structure as well as the carrier.
