Rental software provider Solutions by Computer has optimized its Enfinity rental management system for touchscreen displays that utilize Microsoft Windows 7 and Windows 8 operating systems. Enfinity’s Touchscreen+ — shown for the first time this week at The Rental Show in Las Vegas — boosts previously existing touchscreen capabilities with enhanced touch-or-click navigation.

The touchscreen functionality is fully compatible with all Enfinity applications. Solutions general manager J.J. Shea said Touchscreen+ is the direct result of customer feedback. The capabilities can function on desktop, laptop, tablets and other mobile devices.

Solutions by Computer has also further enhanced its Enfinity system with the addition of capabilities for 64-bit Windows architecture. Benefits include a significant reduction in memory usage as compared with x86 architecture, and the ability to extend the RAM beyond the 4GB limitation of 32-bit architecture. For rental companies, 64-bit capabilities can speed the execution of rental and back office applications and integrated software, freeing the processor from expending unproductive effort, reducing calls to the hard drive and accommodating most currently available hardware and Windows servers.

Solutions has also introduced Enfinity e-Sign, an electronic signature capability, that can be used to confirm deliveries, process rental contracts and execute other documents. Legally binding and secure, e-Sign offers complete end-to-end signature tracking.

“Our Enfinity users can keep pace with their customers’ increasingly mobile lifestyles by using e-Sign,” said Shea. “It provides both convenience and a competitive advantage.”

Using Enfinity, the rental company creates the contract in the system as usual, and can e-mail a link to the customer, which can be signed electronically. The e-Sign process works with any mobile or desktop device that has an internet browser, Shea said.
