SmartEquip last week announced that it is negotiating a letter of intent to facilitate the national implementation of its e-FleetPRO technology by NationsRent. SmartEquip’s technology is will provide NationsRent stores with active parts and service support, including electronic parts catalogs, service, safety, training and troubleshooting information. The information would be distributed and customized to the fleet requirements of each individual store, designed to generate an immediate improvement in service accuracy and parts identification, and a reduction in service time and costs.

The implementation would be expanded to enable the electronic ordering of parts from suppliers, the receipt of manufacturers’ asset-specific safety and service bulletins from within the company’s fleet-management system, and the internal dissemination of documentation across the NationsRent network.

“NationsRent has built a sophisticated electronic infrastructure and this should allow us to install our system in record time,” said SmartEquip CEO Alex Schuessler.
