Six Potain tower cranes are helping construction a unique development named Belgrade Waterfront in Belgrade, Serbia, which will add 1.8 million square meters to the city’s waterfront. It will feature more than 6,000 residences, as well as offices, hotels, shopping malls and more.
The cranes onsite include two self-erecting cranes – an HD 40 A and an Igo T 85 A. It will also feature four top slewing cranes, an MDT 109, an MDT 178 and two MDT 219. All of the units are working on the new Belgrade Waterfront residencies, a development of 296 apartments spread between two 20-story towers. Work onsite is continuous, with materials being supplied on a 24/7 basis.
Sebastian David, general manager of K.I.G.O., Manitowoc’s distributor in Serbia, said the cranes were helping the project stay on track.
“This project is really ambitious,” said David. “But we are getting great use from this mix of Potain cranes. We are on track to meet all deadlines and the cranes offer the highest levels of productivity. We are proud to be associated with such a unique project.”
The cranes, supplied by K.I.G.O, are working for main contractor Strabag. K.I.G.O, is the Serbian representative of Ferokov, Manitowoc’s official dealer in Slovenia.
