Aggreko, world leader in the provision of temporary power and temperature control solutions, has launched its multi-megawatt power projects division in Colombia as part of its expansion plan into the Americas region. The Colombia launch will enable Aggreko to better support customers in power generation and distribution, oil and gas, and mining.

“We have been operating in Colombia since 2001 with a division that covers smaller energy needs,” said Ana Amicarella, managing director of the Americas Power Projects division. “The country’s continued economic growth in recent years has created opportunities for the development of larger temporary power projects able to supply solutions ranging from 4 MW to over 200 MW. Addressing this opportunity, the company’s power projects division announces new in-country operations in order to respond to the constant changes that the market demands.

Aggreko solutions run on diesel and natural gas. It banks on a global rental fleet with a total generating capacity of more than 9,600 MW, including more than 20,000 generators capable of meeting large power requirements during unexpected growth and sudden electricity demands, or in remote locations where the public grid is not available.

Aggreko is based in Scotland, with North America headquarters in Houston.
