Flannery Plant Hire, one of the oldest equipment rental companies in the U.K., purchased more than 100 Atlas Copco hydraulic breakers in a deal valued at more than £1 million (about U.S. $1.6 million). The deal includes small, medium and large breakers and will be used in a variety of Flannery’s customers’ projects including rail, highway, utilities, national grid, cross rail, civils and environmental agency works.

Flannery, established in 1972, has more than 1,600 machines, operating from two main hubs in Wembley and Manchester.

Patrick Flannery, director of Flannery Plant Hire, says he expects minimum downtime on the breakers. “You can have the best machine in the world, however if the breaker is not up to scratch it lets the machine down,” Flannery said.

“Flannery is a major player in the plant hire industry,” added Nick Anwyl, regional sales manager, Atlas Copco. “For them to choose Atlas Copco is a great commendation of a robust and reliable product that has proved it can stand up to the rigors of the U.K. plant hire industry.”
