Netherlands-based Boels Rentals announced today it is joining the SmartEquip network in Europe. By joining SmartEquip, the company expects to reduce the cost of servicing and maintaining its equipment fleet and increasing uptime. Boels also intends to conduct the electronic purchasing of parts and other equipment-related items from OEMs and their dealers via the SmartEquip network and expects to go live with the technology later this year.
“We are very pleased about this important step,” said Guy Cremer, Boels’ manager of fleet operations. “By fleet value, more than half of our suppliers are already actively supporting their customers on the SmartEquip Network in North America. Over the past two years, we learned a great deal about how SmartEquip is used there, how it generates not just for the equipment fleet owners, but also for the manufacturers and their dealers. We are now very much looking forward to sharing the same type of win-win partnership benefits with our suppliers in Europe.”
In North America, SmartEquip has supported more than a billion dollars in parts transactions. The network supports the majority of leading U.S. rental fleets, as well as more than 120 manufacturer brands and their dealers and distributors. SmartEquip founder Dr. Alexander Schuessler, is leading its expansion in Europe and serving as president of its international group.
Boels is headquartered in Sittard, Netherlands.
