Construction equipment manufacturer JCB has announced a £2.5-million Christmas bonus program for its workforce despite the expectation of economic challenges in early 2013. The company said its UK employees will receive a £500 (about U.S. $812.70) bonus, as well as a 3-percent pay raise in January.
“JCB has performed well in 2012,” said JCB chairman Sir Anthony Bamford. “We had a strong start to the year although it has become a lot tougher in recent months, but overall it’s been a good year. I’m delighted we’re able to award another Christmas bonus this year as a thank you for everyone’s hard work and commitment during 2012.”
JCB is based in Rocester, Staffordshire, U.K., with U.S. headquarters in Savannah, Ga.
