Maxim Crane Works L.P., one of the largest crane rental and comprehensive lift solutions providers in the world, has named Larry Lis as the company’s new chief operations officer.
The appointment of Lis comes at a transformational time at Maxim Crane. Over the last two years, the company has achieved record financial results while investing significantly in its fleet and people.

During his tenure at Maxim, Lis has held numerous roles across the entire company, specifically in operations and sales. Lis started his career with Maxim in 1999 as a sales representative, moving into operations management in 2009. In 2012, he was appointed as the regional vice president of Maxim’s Northeast region and the vice president of the Midwest region in 2016 before moving to the vice president of fleet management role.
In his capacity as COO, Lis will oversee all operational aspects of Maxim Crane Works’ six U.S. regions and more than 50 branch locations. His direct reports will include Maxim’s six regional vice presidents, as well as the vice president roles in our crawler and operational excellence departments. Larry will report to CEO Paul McDonnell, and will be based in Maxim’s Canonsburg, Pa., office.
