Milton Cat, the Northeastern U.S.’ largest Caterpillar equipment dealer, has opened a new 100,000 square-foot facility in North Syracuse, N.Y. The facility will serve Central New York equipment owners with machines, generators, work tools, parts, service, and technology.
The new location was purpose-built for improved safety, efficiency, and comfort. Mike Ruede, machine sales manager, said, “Our North Syracuse facility was not only designed with customers in mind, but also employees. The resources we now have will enable us to provide even better customer service.”
The campus includes a 30,000 square-foot service shop with more than 20 technicians on staff and 24 bays equipped with the necessary tools for a wide range of service and repair tasks. The shop features nine cranes, including the ability to lift 35 tons at once, the highest lift capacity of any Milton Cat location. To service compact equipment, there are three in-floor scissor lifts with 12,000 pounds of lifting capacity each.
A separate utility building houses a welding shop and wash bays. To prevent contamination, every machine is cleaned in the wash bay before service. Water and debris drain into a sediment lagoon with an oil skimmer to separate any oil from the water. The water is then filtered and reused in the wash bay to reduce the impact on the environment.
A 10,000 square-foot parts department is on the premises as well. It stores more than 17,000 different part numbers in six automated vertical lift parts stocking systems. A 6,600-square-foot outdoor storage area is available for easy browsing of Cat work tools and attachments.
The North Syracuse facility is home to SITECH Northeast’s operation center. As an authorized dealer of Trimble Construction technology, SITECH Northeast offers sales, rentals, service, training, and support. This service center offers the highest level of capabilities authorized by Trimble so most repairs can be completed on-site, resulting in faster turnaround times.
Interested customers are welcome to try SITECH Northeast’s technology along with Cat equipment and work tools in the facility’s 3D modeled machine demonstration area. Milton Cat North Syracuse is open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Saturdays from 7 a.m. to noon.
