Volvo Group North America to Spotlight Sustainable Transportation During Green Transportation Summit and Expo
A panel of executive speakers from the Volvo Group’s North America (VGNA) brands, Mack Trucks, Volvo Trucks and Volvo Construction Equipment, will demonstrate the company’s sustainability capabilities at the Green Transportation Summit and Expo Aug. 22 to 24 in Tacoma, Wash.
These executives will showcase the Mack LR Electric Class 8 refuse vehicle, Volvo VNR Electric tractor and Volvo Construction Equipment L20 electric compact wheel loader, which attendees can explore during the summit’s ride-and-drive event. A Volvo Construction Equipment EC230 23-ton excavator will be present as a static display.
“This year’s Green Transportation Summit and Expo is an opportunity for us to share our progress toward zero-emissions transportation with some of the industry’s key stakeholders,” said Jonathan Miller, senior vice president of public affairs for VGNA. “We expect that our speakers will contribute to the rapidly expanding discourse surrounding electromobility, while our vehicles will give attendees the chance to experience firsthand electric vehicle innovations.”
The Green Transportation Summit and Expo is a regional networking, learning and training event focused on enhancing sustainable transportation solutions. Volvo Group’s participation in the event’s 12th annual occurrence is the product of the company’s long-standing dedication to efficiency and progress. This event allows the Volvo Group and its brands to collaborate with its industry contemporaries in the mutual pursuit of building an emissions-free future.
Volvo Group’s panel of electrification experts will speak on the following sustainability initiatives:
- What to Expect When Deploying Commercial EVs – Dawn Fenton, vice president of government relations and corporate affairs for Volvo Group North America.
- Municipal Fleet Electrification Best Practices – Tyler Ohlmansiek, Mack Trucks director of e-mobility sales.
- Paving the Way to ZEV Trucking with OEMs – Katy Link, Volvo Trucks e-mobility regional sales manager and Mack’s Ohlmansiek.
- Volvo Construction Session – Ray Gallant, head of sustainability and productivity at Volvo Construction Equipment.
The Green Transportation Summit and Expo’s ride-and-drive event is from 2 to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 22.
