Patten Caterpillar Opens New Dealership Facility in Wauconda, Ill.
Patten Cat, Caterpillar’s authorized dealer in Northern Illinois and Northwest Indiana, has opened a new facility in Wauconda, Ill, to expand the company’s ability to serve the Northwest part of the greater Chicago area, including Northern Cook, Lake and McHenry counties. The facility, which Patten calls state-of-the-art, opened Sept. 12.
When Patten Cat broke ground in 2015, the goal was to make the location a “one stop” shop for contractors and industrial accounts with a mix of sales, rental and parts distribution. Available at the new location will be tractors, aerial lifts, power equipment, and a fully stocked genuine Caterpillar parts counter. The facility will feature new Caterpillar earthmoving and excavation equipment, boomlifts, scissorlifts, generators, welders, air compressors and more.
“We decided to open our new facility in Wauconda to expand our company’s footprint in the Northwest suburbs and better serve our customers, specifically in North Cook, Lake and McHenry Counties,” said Garrett Patten, president of Patten Industries. “We could not have done this without the tremendous support the city of Wauconda has given us over the last year. They have gone above and beyond to help us feel at home in the area and we are excited to open our doors to the public next week. We hope local community members and customers see this as our strong commitment to the territory and market.”
The branch gives Patten Cat six locations.
The facility will serve the heavy construction, commercial construction, industrial and landscaping industries, offering equipment sales and rental. It will also offer a drive-through parts pick-up window, a first for a Caterpillar dealership in North America.
The Wauconda facility will be run by Michael Wetter, as 12-year rental industry veteran who has been with Patten Cat for two years, previously in the Joliet, Ill., location.
Based in Elmhurst, Ill., Patten Cat is No. 59 on the RER 100.
