Florida Contractor Rentals, the largest independent rental company in northeast Florida, has been acquired by Synergy Equipment. FCR was founded by industry veteran Clif Sheffield in 2002, has locations in Daytona Beach, St. Augustin and Palatka, Fla., and was in the process of opening a new location near the Jacksonville airport around the time of the acquisition.
Synergy Equipment was founded in 2012 and operates equipment rental and sales locations in Miami, Tampa, Orlando and Fort Myers, Fla. The acquisition was announced on FCR’s website at www.FCRnet.com. FCR owner Sheffield retired after the transaction, however long-time FCR operations manager John Sheffield (Clif’s brother) will remain with Synergy in a similar role.
