Reflecting a better economy, attendance at The Rental Show increased by about 5 percent, according to the American Rental Association. Total attendance from rental companies was 5,870, representing 2,513 rental businesses.

The general feel of the show was optimistic as exhibitors, rental companies and other attendees generally spoke of better business conditions. Exhibitors at the show, in New Orleans, generally said traffic was solid and rental companies were in a buying mood for the most part. Seminars were well attended and the keynote session, featuring a speech from legendary quarterback Peyton Manning was a show highlight.

“Everything at the show was working at the highest level this year,” said Christine Wehrman, ARA’s CEO. “There was strong interest in meeting with exhibitors, purchasing of equipment, excellent networking and positive attitudes from all attendees and exhibitors. There is an optimistic outlook for the future of the equipment rental industry, short-term and long-term.

Next year, a celebration of ARA’s 60th anniversary will be the focus of the Rental Show, which will be held Feb. 21-24 at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta.
