A report from Research and Markets sees significant growth in the telehandler market from 2014 through 2018, with rental companies being the primary drivers of the demand. The report says the global telehandler market is driven by several factors, including the expansion of the rental equipment industry, and that the latest construction equipment technology with the ability to improve productivity is an attraction to many organizations.
However, some small and medium enterprises find it difficult to buy such equipment, leading to the growth of rental, the report says, with rental fleets foring the largest customer segment of the telehandler market. “With increased collaboration among construction equipment manufacturers and rental fleet owners, the products are being designed as per the customer need,” the report says.
The need for continuous support and maintenance is a major concern for telehandler manufacturers, the report adds.
According to the report, key vendors are Caterpillar, JCB, JLG and Manitou, with Bobcat, CNH Industrial, Doosan Infracore, Haulotte, Komatsu, Liebherr, Skyjack, Terex, Volvo CE, Wacker Neuson and XCMG playing roles.
