Peter Holt, chairman and CEO of Holt Cat, the San Antonio-based Caterpillar heavy equipment and engine dealer, presented the Texas A&M-San Antonio Foundation with a check for $500,000 to be used toward scholarships in San Antonio. Mark Outlaw, chairman of the foundation and president Maria Ferrier, accepted the check from Holt.
Holt is also CEO and owner of the San Antonio Spurs and Spurs Sports and Entertainment.
The $500,000 award is the largest gift to the foundation since Texas A&M-San Antonio became a stand-alone university in 2009. The foundation works to provide financial resources for students.
Holt Cat is one of the world’s largest Caterpillar dealerships and a major rental player, ranked No. 15 on the RER 100.
