Illini Hi-Reach Hosts Celebrity-Studded 20-Year Celebratory Golf Tournament
Aerial work platform and telehandler rental specialist Illini Hi-Reach celebrated its 20-year anniversary with a customer/sports celebrity golf outing at the Cog Hill Golf Club in Lemont, Ill. Illini customers, industry associates and friends commemorated the occasion at Cog Hill’s challenging Ravines course.
Chicago sports media icon Hub Arkush was master of ceremonies, and he began the day by introducing some of the sports celebrities, including Chicago Bears Hall of Fame defensive tackle Dan Hampton, former Chicago Bears All Pro defensive lineman Steve “Mongo” McMichael; former Chicago Bears All Pro defensive lineman Otis Wilson; former Chicago Bears kicker Kevin Butler; former Chicago Bears tight end Jim “Robocop” Thornton; former Chicago Bears receiver Glen Kozlowski; former Chicago Blackhawks goalie Murray Bannerman; former Chicago Cubs catcher Randy Hundley; former Chicago White Sox outfielder Carlos May; former New York Yankees pitcher Mike Torrez; and Sean “The Beast” Fister, three-time LDA long-drive champion, and more.
A scramble format was used in the tournament and the winning score was posted by the team of Fister, Scott Higgins of Iron Planet, Will Kessler and Kevin Ramsburg of Oshkosh Corp. and Illini Hi-Reach CEO Larry Workman. The long drive competition was won by Thornton, and the “closest to the pin” competition was taken by Robin Earl, former Chicago Bears fullback and tight end.
Illini Hi-Reach has served the greater Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana marketplace with JLG aerial work platforms and telehandlers since 1993. The company recently opened a new branch in South Beloit, Ill., near the Wisconsin state line. Illini is No. 100 on the RER 100.
