Garr Equipment Rental and Feed, Mt. Juliet, Tenn., will close its doors after 35 years in business, The Tennessean is reporting. The equipment rental and hardware business was initially founded by Gus Garr and four sons, one of whom, Roy, still manages it. The family decided to sell the property and close the business while it was still profitable.
Garr will hold an auction next month to liquidate remaining items.
The company is well known in the community for holding charity and community events, sponsoring teams and supporting organizations and nonprofits. It was the initial location for community recycling efforts.
