Loxam and JCB Choose Qualcomm’s GlobalTRACS Equipment Management System
Qualcomm Enterprise Services Europe BV, a wholly owned subsidiary of Qualcomm Inc. and a provider of business-to-business wireless enterprise applications and services, last week announced that two leading players in the French and European construction equipment markets, Loxam and JCB, have recently adopted its GlobalTRACS equipment management system.
Launched in Europe less than six months ago, the GlobalTRACS system, a telematics solution designed by Qualcomm to optimize the remote management of worksite equipment, has already attracted key players in the market. Loxam, Europe’s leading construction equipment rental company, has chosen the GlobalTRACS system to equip its fleet of long-term lease equipment, while JCB, one of the world's largest construction equipment manufacturers, is deploying this solution under its LiveLink brand.
In addition to selecting the system based on its quality and reliability, Loxam and JCB cited two key factors in their decision to use the GlobalTRACS system:
The international scope of Qualcomm makes it well positioned to advise and work collaboratively with Loxam and JCB in Europe and worldwide.
Qualcomm’s expertise in developing and delivering end-to-end services means both Loxam and JCB benefit from a single point of contact covering every aspect of the remote asset management solution, including software integration with the customer's IT system.
With a fleet of 200,000 machines available in 10 countries, the Loxam group plans to initially deploy the GlobalTRACS system on all sites managed by Loxam TP, the division that handles long-term leasing of heavy plant and specialized machinery. The Loxam group places a significant emphasis on the quality of its customer service: all its agencies are ISO 9001 certified. Loxam will use the GlobalTRACS system to make further progress in this area by providing more accurate invoicing of hire services and enabling significant reductions in maintenance costs.
“Besides its simplicity of use, the GlobalTRACS system is a reliable and scalable solution that allows it to perfectly satisfy the needs and expectations of its users,” said David Gravez, national technical manager at Loaxm. “The international scale of Qualcomm also convinced us. Today, we use only a fraction of the features available with the GlobalTRACS system, but we intend to leverage its most advanced services in the near future.”
JCB plans to market the GlobalTRACS system through its distributor network under its LiveLink brand and invite customers to access the features and services of the system for its own business needs, such as reducing losses due to theft.
“JCB LiveLink provides our customers with an extremely high-tech solution that will help them run their businesses more efficiently and profitably by improving productivity and by enhancing customer service,” said Matthew Taylor, chief operating officer of JCB. “It also provides an extremely powerful deterrent to thieves and makes it simpler to recover stolen equipment.”
