Aggreko, global leader in rental power, cooling, heating and oil-free compressed air, has provided nearly 2,000 tons of HVAC equipment and 17 megawatts of electricity — enough to power about 2,000 mid-sized homes — for North America’s first World Equestrian Games in Lexington, Ky., Sept. 25 through Oct. 10 at the Kentucky Horse Park. The Games, now in their 20th year, bring together the world’s elite equestrian competitors in eight separate disciplines.
Aggreko technicians worked seven weeks in preparation, unloading and installing about 80 truckloads of equipment, including generators from 24 to 1,500 kW and HVAC packages from five to 80 tons. Aggreko will have provided 59 miles of cable by the time the games end.
Aggreko, based in Scotland, with U.S. headquarters in Houston, has a long history of powering high-profile events such as Olympic Games, the U.S. presidential inauguration, the Super Bowl and the Daytona 500. Aggreko North America is No. 9 on the RER 100.
