Sunbelt Rentals, a subsidiary of the Ashtead Group plc, has acquired Topp Portable Air and its related company Precision Steel Works in a cash transaction.
The Topp organization has 15 locations and a corporate office in Aston, Pa., along with a light assembly and manufacturing facility in Rocky Mount, N.C.

For more than 20 years, Topp Portable Air has served as an industry-leading supplier of portable air conditioning, temporary, industrial and construction heating equipment, environmental control units and large-area dehumidification equipment. For a number of years Topp was listed on the RER 100 ranking of the 100 largest equipment rental companies in North America, last listed in 2009 at No. 100.
Based in Fort Mill, S.C., Sunbelt Rentals is No. 3 on the RER 100.
