Online auction company Iron Planet recently liquidated $859,000 of used rental equipment for Pensacola, Fla.-based Kent Rental, selling a range of equipment from small hand tools to reach forklifts. More than 13,200 visitors from 119 countries checked out the auction.
“This auction exceeded our expectations by more than 20 percent,” said Andrew Kent of Kent Rental. “We didn’t feel we would attract the number and types of buyers through a traditional auction and if we had to move our equipment to a larger auction site, it would have been a major undertaking and costly.”
