Little Rock, Ark.-based Hugg & Hall Equipment Co., a leading provider of materials and personnel handling products and services to the industrial and construction markets, this week announced its acquisition of Arkla Taylor, a Taylor Forklift dealer encompassing a five-state area that includes Louisiana, Arkansas, East Texas, Oklahoma and Southern Missouri.
“Taylor Industrial forklifts are known for their quality and durability,” said Hugg & Hall chairman John Hugg. “We think that the alliance of these two organizations, Hugg & Hall and Arkla Taylor, will be very positive for our combined customer base.”
Founded in 1981 and headquartered in Ruston, La., Arkla Taylor is a regional dealer for Taylor Machine Works, the manufacturer of Taylor forklifts. Arkla Taylor rents and sells new and used equipment and provides parts and service for the Taylor product lines.
In addition to its Ruston headquarters, Arkla Taylor has locations in Blytheville and El Dorado, Ark.; Broussard and Houma, La.; Longview and Lufkin, Texas; and Tulsa, Okla. Arkla Taylor serves a broad customer base in the lumber, forestry, oil & gas, steel, pipe, pre-stressed concrete, and freight handling industries, as well as other markets requiring a large lift capacity.
“I’ve enjoyed my 30 years of growing this business and having the opportunity to meet and know so many great people in such a diversity of industries,” said George Parkman, Arkla Taylor’s founder and president. “This company has grown because of the help of many outstanding and dedicated employees. I am very pleased that Arkla Taylor will continue on in the hands of a highly respected family-owned company. We will continue to serve the needs of our customers as we have in the past providing the same Taylor products and service from the same locations and with the same customer-oriented commitment.”
Hugg & Hall Equipment, a dealer for Toyota forklifts and Volvo construction equipment, provides sales, rentals, parts and service for a variety of new and used equipment, including Crown, Bobcat, Doosan, Skytrak, Genie and JLG. It is No. 68 on the new RER 100.
