NACCO Materials Handling Group recently donated an electric pallet jack to the Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina in Greenville, N.C. The Greenville branch of the food bank uses a critical piece of equipment like a pallet jack to distribute more than 7 million pounds of food annually to agencies such as local rescue missions, food pantries, soup kitchens, and after school and senior programs in 10 eastern North Carolina counties.
“NACCO has partnered with the Food Bank Greenville in so many ways over the years from financial donations that provide summer meals to children and their families to this recent equipment donation,” said Will Litchfield, chairperson of the Food Bank’s Greenville Branch Regional Council.
“NMHG has a long history of being very involved in community activities on an individual basis and as a company and are glad we could help,” said Kurt Kern, plant manager, NACCO Materials Handling Group. “It is very important that we are involved to improve the quality of life across our community.”

The Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina is a nonprofit organization that has provided food for people at risk of hunger in 34 counties in central and eastern North Carolina for 30 years.
